About Lewis

I am a researcher, writer, and practitioner dedicated to untangling the complex web of human communication.

My work occupies the liminal space between clinical speech pathology and abstract linguistic philosophy. Through my Substack, academic papers, and public lectures, I aim to provide rigorous but accessible frameworks for understanding how we speak, why we falter, and what our language reveals about our minds.

Currently based in [Your Location/Institution], I offer consultation services, publish regular essays, and develop resources for both clinicians and curious minds.

Research Questions & Inquiries

I am currently developing proposals for doctoral research. Below are the active inquiries and philosophical frameworks I am exploring at the intersection of clinical pathology and linguistic theory.

Active Inquiry

The Phenomenology of Fluency Disorders

How does the subjective experience of a speech block alter an individual's ontological relationship to language? I am interested in moving beyond purely mechanical definitions of stuttering to explore how dysfluency impacts the conceptualization of self and social reality.

Philosophy of Mind Clinical Practice
Literature Review Phase

Semantic Drift in Clinical Taxonomy

Investigating the historical shifts in how speech pathologies are named and categorized, and how these linguistic choices unconsciously dictate intervention strategies. If we change the structural vocabulary used by practitioners, does patient outcome inherently shift?

Structural Linguistics Ethics

Information for Supervisors

I am currently seeking academic supervision for a PhD program commencing in 2027. If my research interests align with your faculty, I would welcome the opportunity to connect.
